Where can I get a tasting menu in Ottawa?
A handful of Ottawa kitchens build the whole evening around one fixed menu. They range from seven courses to considerably more, and no two are alike.
-
Atelier
Chef Marc Lepine's restaurant serves nothing but its tasting menu — a seven-course format built around molecular-gastronomy technique, where each course is treated as its own small piece of design. Roughly three hours, with an optional wine pairing; no vegan option.
-
Antheia
Chef Briana Kim's fermentation-focused follow-up to her acclaimed Alice. The menu runs on the restaurant's own fermentation calendar rather than the seasons, built from housemade misos, garums and shoyus, with a chef's counter that looks straight into the kitchen.
-
Beckta Dining & Wine
One of Ottawa's longest-running fine dining rooms, offering both an omnivore and a plant-based tasting menu alongside sommelier-guided wine pairings and a cellar built up over two decades.
-
Restaurant e18hteen
A heritage-building steak-and-seafood room that updates its tasting menu weekly rather than seasonally — a way to taste more of what the kitchen does beyond the à la carte steaks it's known for. Wine pairing available.
-
Aiāna
Chef Raghav Chaudhary's tasting menu frames Canadian terroir through a multicultural lens, and now runs a full vegetarian version alongside the classic at the same price — the whole table can book together and mix the two. A Wine Spectator–recognized pairing is available for $90.
Tasting menus like these fill up — Atelier and Antheia in particular are often booked weeks out — and most ask the whole table to order the same menu.
